Meredith College's Marketing Department is seeking a creative and experienced videographer and photographer to serve as our Videographer and Multimedia Designer on our dynamic team. This individual will play a crucial role in supporting our marketing efforts by conceptualizing, creating, and producing engaging and high-quality visual content for broadcast, the college website, our social media platforms, and various other marketing initiatives. The Videographer and Multimedia Designer will serve on the Video and Social Media teams and will assist in coordinating video and photography shoots for the department. They will work closely with the Assistant Director of Visual Communication-Multimedia. We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record in videography and photography.

The Videographer and Multimedia designer takes a lead role in conceptualizing, designing, and producing assigned video and photography projects that advance Meredith College’s strategic marketing messages, serve internal project partner needs, meet the College’s graphic and style standards, and are completed within the designated timeframe and budget. This position demonstrates a high level of creative talent, and expertise in all aspects of videography, including planning, concept and message development, shooting, editing, post-production, and asset management.

This position requires a strong knowledge of the critical aspects of video production and a deep understanding of how to use those techniques to create collateral that motivates and inspires diverse audiences.

The Videographer and Multimedia Designer will also perform advanced-level photography services for Meredith College. Photographs, edits, and organizes photos of campus events, on-campus and off-campus locations, magazine feature images, classrooms, and athletics for the college’s advertising, print collateral, social media, and web projects.

The position will spend 50% of their hours per week devoted to video responsibilities and 50% of their hours per week devoted to photography responsibilities. This percentage can be flexible depending on the given needs of the department. The Videographer and Multimedia Designer is a member of the College’s in-house seven-person design team. 

Key Responsibilities:

Video Production:
- Produce a variety of video content designed to achieve the College’s strategic marketing, recruiting, fundraising, and, image-building goals including advertisements, student profiles, fundraising videos, social media content, and more.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to plan, shoot, and edit videos that align with the College's marketing objectives.
- Manage, plan, and film a variety of multi-camera video shoots (field and studio). Includes editing, color correcting and post-production, video file compression, and distribution.
- Acts as a producer/director/videographer in the field.
- Utilize video editing software to produce high-quality video content. Proficiency in Final Cut Pro X is preferred but not required,
- Maintain video equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.
- Advises the Marketing team and other departments on best practices in video.
- Performs other duties and provides team support as assigned.

Photography:
- Capture compelling and visually appealing high-quality digital photographs for marketing materials, to meet recruitment, marketing, web, and news coverage needs.
- Edit photos using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop to meet marketing standards.
- Collaborate with the Photography team to ensure consistent visual branding.
- Fulfills other photography duties as assigned.

Social Media Responsibilities:
- Familiarity with Instagram Reels, TikTok, and other emerging social media video platforms.
- Create compelling and shareable short-form video content for Instagram Reels and TikTok, targeting a younger and more interactive audience.
- Adapt existing video content into shorter, bite-sized versions optimized for various social media platforms, ensuring maximum reach and engagement.
- Optimize content for each platform's specific requirements and best practices.
- Keep abreast of the most current trends, tools, and best practices in social media video marketing.
- Collaborate with the Social Media team and the Social Media Marketing Strategist to align video content with overall social media campaigns and objectives.

Project Management:
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project goals.
- Assist in coordinating video and photography shoots, including location scouting, talent coordination, and equipment setup.
- Maintain an organized library of video and photo assets of their files for future use.

Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams within the Marketing Department.
- Actively participate in brainstorming and idea-generation sessions to develop creative concepts.
- Be a team player and actively contribute to a positive work environment.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Film, Media Production, Photography, or a related field preferred.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in videography and photography.
- Proficiency in video editing software, with experience in Final Cut Pro X preferred but not required.
- Requires excellent written, and verbal communication skills and comfortability interacting with a diverse audience at video and photography sessions.
- Familiarity with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop for photo editing.
- Experienced in motion graphics and animation is a plus.
- Required in-depth knowledge of cameras, lens capabilities, lighting equipment, and, the demands of a broad range of subjects and situations such as portraiture, musical performances, athletic events, ceremonies, and archiving principles.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Required experience and skill to produce high-quality results under tight deadlines.
- Creative mindset with a keen eye for visual storytelling.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Other Requirements:
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.

Physical requirements:
- Light work with some physical demands such as lifting or moving photo and video equipment less than 25 pounds, but rarely moving more than 25 to 50 pounds.
