Meredith College is seeking an experienced, diligent, professional housekeeper for the residence and offices of the College’s President. This position is responsible for keeping the president's household clean and organized to very high standards. This is a full-time / benefit eligible position.

Provides general and specialized housekeeping and assures the cleanliness of the President of the College’s residence and office suite. Ensures routine and major cleaning of the entire house, including private residence, and provides additional cleaning services for special events. Uses supplies and resources in a cost-efficient manner. Adheres to established procedures of maintaining cleanliness in areas of responsibility. Work schedule is subject to be modified based on event scheduling.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides general and specialized cleaning functions, to include dusting, mopping, vacuuming, polishing, disinfecting, buffing. waxing, washing, ironing, spot cleaning and trash removal;
- Cleans baseboard and crown molding cleaning routinely;
- Cleans windows as needed;
- Provides some upkeep to outdoor living areas, including cleaning outdoor furniture;
- Launders designated items, ensuring items are properly washing, dried, ironed, folded and put away;
- Changes bed and bath linens as scheduled or needed;
- Develops and maintain inventory of needed household and cleaning supplies;
- Monitors equipment and fixtures at the residence (e.g., lighting, kitchen equipment, cleaning equipment, etc.) to ensure proper working order, and make recommendations or arrange for updating or repair as needed;
- Provides personal assistance to the President and the President's household as needed;
- Collaborates with other College departments and external vendors to ensure that the residence is properly and efficiently cleaned and maintained;
- Rare evening and/or weekend work may be required; and
- Other duties as assigned or requested.

Required Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of three years of professional cleaning experience with excellent professional references;
- Must have excellent working knowledge of general cleaning practices, cleaning solutions and methods, as well as cleaning appliances/tools and their operations;
- Must possess strong organization skills;
- Must be able to communicate well verbally and in writing;
- Must demonstrate initiative and professionalism;
- Must maintain a high level of confidentiality, discretion and excellent judgement;
- Must be able to meet driving requirements;

Physical Requirements:
- The ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time;
- The ability to frequently crouch, push/pull, squat, kneel and work above the shoulders during the performance of the daily job routine;
- The ability to see and identify cleaning needs;
- The physical ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds of weight both on flat surfaces and up and down stairs;
- The ability to frequently climb stairs; and
- The ability to use a step ladder as needed.
