Meredith College, a member of the NCAA Division III and the USA South, an all-women’s college located in Raleigh, NC invites applications for the position of Head Track and Field Coach. The Head Track and Field Coach, in conjunction with the Director of the Track and Field/Cross Country Program, is responsible for providing leadership, organization, and supervision for all aspects of the track and field program, with a strong commitment to the NCAA Division III philosophy and the holistic development of student-athletes.

Duties:

Coaching and Player Development:
- Plan, implement, and oversee all training sessions, competitive strategies, and player development initiatives.
- Evaluate and develop individual and team performance to achieve competitive success within the conference and at the regional/NCAA level.
- Develop a positive team culture that emphasizes academic success, personal growth, well-being, and sportsmanship.

Recruitment:
- Meet recruitment and retention goals set by the College.
- Recruit student-athletes who meet Meredith College academic and athletic standards.
- Provide recruitment and retention reports to the Director of Athletics.

Program Administration:
- Oversee program operations, including scheduling, travel arrangements, equipment procurement, and facility coordination for track and field.
- Assist with management of the track and field budget responsibly and efficiently.
- Develop and maintain a competitive schedule that allows the team to prepare and compete successfully in the conference and in post-season play.
- Assist with supervision of assistant coaches, graduate assistants, and volunteers, providing direction and oversight.

Compliance:
- Complete all necessary compliance and departmental documentation as required.
- Work with the staff Compliance Officer to ensure programs and student-athletes are following all rules and regulations regarding compliance issues.

Student-Athlete Support:
- Monitor academic progress, support retention, and graduation success.
- Collaborate with academic support staff, athletic trainers, strength and conditioning coaches, and administrators to ensure the personal welfare of each student-athlete within the program.

Community and Campus Engagement:
- Represent the track and field program at college events, alumnae functions, fundraising activities, and community outreach.
- Promote the program to the public, including media, donors, and the campus community to increase visibility and revenues for the program.

Secondary Duties:
- Event management
- Other duties as assigned (based on expertise)

Qualifications:

Required:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Demonstrated successful coaching experience at the collegiate or high school levels.
- Knowledge and understanding of NCAA DIII philosophy, rules and regulations.
- Ability to identify and recruit student-athletes.
- Must be able to travel and be trained in operating college vehicles.
- Valid NC Driver's License and clear driving history required.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree
- Collegiate head coaching or high-level assistant coaching experience.
- USATF coaching licenses.

Working Conditions:
- Ability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel for competition and recruiting.
- Ability to demonstrate athletic skills and participate in on-field instruction.
- Ability to move or lift items weighing up to 25-50 pounds.
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
