Counsel and assist prospective and continuing students through the financial aid process.
Duties:
- Coordinates the financial aid process.
- Counsel and assist prospective and continuing students through the financial aid process.
- Packaged and award financial assistance to prospective and continuing students.
- Serve as the back up to the Information manager (IM) when IM is not in the office.
- Verify submitted financial documents against information submitted on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- Additional duties as assigned.
Skills Needed:
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in working with sensitive information.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint Excel and the ability to work with mainframe database systems.
- Experienced in providing customer service.
- Proficient written and oral communications skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
Key interfaces:
- Interaction with continuing students, prospective students, faculty and staff of the college.
- Interaction with Federal and State officials.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 6 months in financial aid office and/or other significant work experience
Working conditions & physical demands:
- General office setting with moderate noise level
