The Events Planner supports the planning, coordination, and successful execution of events hosted on the Meredith College campus, including weddings, conferences, meetings, and community programs. This position plays a key role in promoting the campus as a premier venue for internal and external clients, contributing to both revenue generation and community engagement. The Events Planner manages event logistics from inquiry through completion, ensuring a high-quality experience that reflects the standards and values of Meredith College.

Duties:
- Coordinates all aspects of assigned events, including space reservations, vendor coordination, logistics, and on-site event management.
- Serves as a liaison between clients, vendors, campus departments, and support staff to ensure well-executed events.
- Develops event proposals, cost estimates, and contracts in collaboration with a third party partner and the VP for Business & Finance.
- Maintains event planning tools, checklists, and tracking systems to ensure efficiency and consistency.
- Supports marketing and outreach efforts to promote Meredith College facilities as a venue for community and private events.
- Assists in developing promotional materials, digital content, and social media outreach in coordination with the Office of Marketing and Communications, the Copy Center, and other resources.
- Conducts site tours and consultations with prospective clients, highlighting campus facilities and amenities.
- Provides guidance on event design, setup, and logistics consistent with College capabilities and client expectations.
- Assists in evaluating event success and client satisfaction to improve services and processes.
- Supports budget management, invoicing, and recordkeeping for assigned events.
- Ensures compliance with College policies, safety standards, and local regulations governing campus use and event operations.
- Represents Meredith College professionally in all interactions with clients, vendors, and community partners.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, communications, marketing, business, or related field.
- Two or more years of professional experience in event planning, conference services, or hospitality management.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
- Proficiency with event management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and social media platforms.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as required by event schedules.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in higher education, hospitality, or nonprofit settings.
- Knowledge of marketing and outreach strategies for event promotion.
- Familiarity with audiovisual coordination and vendor management.

Work Environment:
- Work is performed in a professional office setting and at various campus and event locations. The position requires regular interaction with internal and external clients, vendors, and campus partners. Evening and weekend hours are required depending on event schedules.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during events.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally for event setup and materials handling.
- Must be able to move between multiple campus event venues.
