Event Relations Coordinator

The Event Relations Coordinator is responsible for providing professional, courteous event coordination for both internal and external clients. This position also coordinates a core group of students, alumnae and volunteers that work events both on and off campus. The position also provides administrative support for the Meredith Events Office.

Duties:
- Works on the scheduling and evaluation of events, the processing of room reservations, the scheduling of appointments and facility tours, and the gathering and tracking of event documentation including event agreements, insurance, and billing.
- Assists with accounts payable/receivable and the tracking of rental clients.
- Hires, trains, schedules, and supervises student workers and volunteers for supporting events across campus.
- Develops and oversees a student/volunteer internship program for on and off campus client events. This will be a combination of volunteers and student internships for academic credit.
- Conducts pre-meetings with clients and post meetings after the event is over. Compiles event data for assessment.
- Works as the Assistant Director of the Advanced Placement Summer Institute at Meredith, a program curated by the College Board for high school teachers, administrators, and counselors. Includes responsibility for recommending and meeting annual revenue projections, completing required reporting, creating site specific materials, selecting subjects and consultants, and handling contracting, registration and implementation of the program.
- Provides support in the Campus Store as assigned including, opening, closing, and sales.
- Provides other event support as assigned.

Skills Needed: 
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication and customer service skills.
- Data entry skills, proficiency in MS Office package, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high traffic environment.

Qualifications:
High school diploma and a minimum of three years of experience in a similar position or a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 1 year of experience.
