Meredith College seeks qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Professor of Interior Design. This full-time, tenure-track, academic year appointment begins August 1, 2024.

Duties:
- Teach on-campus undergraduate courses in the following areas within the interior design curriculum: Construction technology including Construction Documentation, Building codes, Interior Design Products, Residential and Commercial Interior design studios (beginning to advanced).
- Active involvement within the college, school, and department, student advising and mentoring, college-wide committee work, and engagement in scholarship and/or professional activity required.

Qualifications:
- Terminal degree: Earned Ph.D. or MFA in Interior Design or Architecture required for tenure track position. Earned Master’s degree in Interior Design (MS) or Architecture (M.Arch) required for non-tenure track position. Candidate must have at least one degree in Interior Design (undergraduate or graduate level).
- NCIDQ certification or Registered Architect required.
- Candidate must have academic or professional experience appropriate to the assigned areas of teaching responsibility.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, and InDesign is required.
- Experience with CIDA accreditation process is preferred.

The Interior Design Program is one of four program areas offering a major in the Department of Human Environmental Sciences, which also includes programs in Child Development, Fashion Merchandising and Design, and Family and Consumer Sciences.   The Interior Design program, which has been CIDA accredited since 1993, has an emphasis on professional practice, which prepares students for success in positions in commercial and residential design.
