The Associate Director of the Learning Center & Transfer Student Support will oversee the college tutoring programs by collaborating with the Director of the Student Success Center. This position will be managing the Meredith College Learning Center by hiring, training, mentoring, and evaluating tutors in the Learning Center. This role has primary responsibility for overseeing, implementing and assessing the college's tutoring programs, managing the center’s budget with the Director of the Student Success Center, and contributing to the strategic direction of the center. Key duties include establishing tutor training for all academic areas: recruiting, training, scheduling, guiding and evaluating the undergraduate students who serve as tutors, data collection relating to tutor visits of specific subjects and topics. This position coordinates the Learning Center's work as necessary with other campus offices - academic departments, advising, disabilities, admissions, etc.

The Associate Director of the Learning Center & Transfer Student Support will also directly support Meredith College's Transfer population and serve as the Success Coach for Transfer and Wings students. They will provide leadership for faculty and staff in academic planning support and retention initiatives for Wings and Transfer students in addition to providing support for the Wings and Transfer students from deposit through graduation. This position will collaborate with the Admissions Office and Transfer Faculty Advisors to ensure that incoming transfer students are registered for classes after submitting a deposit and aware of the next steps needed to becoming a student at Meredith College. This person will work with Academic and Faculty Advisors, and Success Coaches in the day to day implementation of Wings and Transfer support.

Duties:

Learning Center Management
- Assist in the management of the Student Success Center including tasks like training and evaluation of staff, collection and interpretation of relevant data, and contributing to the strategic direction of the Center.
- Hire tutors across the curriculum for the peer tutoring program by collaborating with the the faculty liaison group and academic departments
- Establish a budget for the Learning Center with the Director of Student Success Center
- Manage timesheets and working hours for the tutors
- Teach IDS 155: Tutor Training (1 credit hours class) at least once per semester
- Mentor tutors through All-Staff Meetings and one-on-one goal setting and evaluation meetings
- Ensure the Learning Center is maintaining CRLA certification
- Lead the Student Success Center team in staying current on research in academic support and learning
- Support students who have been referred to the Student Success Center that are experiencing academic struggles with study skills, time management and test prep.

Transfer & Wings Student Support
- Assist incoming transfer and Wings students with the course registration process
- Serve as Success Coach for all transfer students who are not connected to an affinity group on campus
- Review transfer credit evaluations in collaboration with Registrar’s Office and academic departments to ensure students are receiving correct transfer credits
- Collaborate with Director of Student Success Center and Wings program to strategically support these populations
- Thoroughly document interactions with students in the departments booking system
- Assess success coaching through semesterly reports to the Office of Research, Planning, and Assessment
- Attend Transfer and Wings Information Sessions representing the Student Success Center

Qualifications:
- Masters in higher education, psychology, social work, sociology, or related field
- 1-3 years experience in learning centers, student success, higher education, or counseling
- Exceptional communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to take initiative and work on a team providing many services across campus
- Working knowledge of MS Office and Google Suites

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with college tutoring, curriculum development and/or supervising student/peer tutors
