The Assistant Registrar supports the mission of the Office of the Registrar. This Office ensures adherence to academic policy, preserving academic integrity and safeguarding academic records while providing administrative and academic services to Meredith students, faculty, staff, and alumnae. The Office is responsible for scheduling classes, registration for courses, catalogue publications, academic records, degree audit, leave of absences and withdrawals, Veteran’s Affairs, certifying graduation requirements, and issuing official transcripts.

Duties:
- Create the course schedule for all terms and coordinate class offerings with the academic departments.
- Assign classroom space for class and final exam utilization.
- Oversee the processing of special studies proposals and research forms.
- Maintain the course catalogue in Colleague and coordinate updates in the annual Undergraduate and Graduate catalogs.
- Hire and supervise work study students.
- Prepare and submit enrollment and graduation reports to the National Student Clearinghouse.
- Verify, prepare, and print post-baccalaureate certificates.
- Maintain departmental website.
- Serve as relief for the front desk.
- Alternate VA certifying official.
- Perform other duties as necessary for the office.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree is required;
- Minimum of two years’ experience working in an educational environment or equivalent administrative setting;
- Demonstrated competency to serve in an administrative capacity;
- Prior experience working in a student records office and experience with applicable laws/regulations e.g., FERPA is preferred;
- Experience supervising others is preferred.

Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written skills required.
- Ability to communicate with faculty, staff, parents, and students.
- Ability to explain clearly academic policy.
- Ability to compute GPA.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exist.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Computer Skills:
- Direct experience in student records management.
- Knowledge of Colleague by Ellucian or similar SIS.
- Experience with development and implementation of on-line systems, strong personal computer skills, and technology application skills.
- Knowledge of National Student Clearinghouse reporting requirements.
