The English Department at Meredith College seeks applications for a tenure-track assistant professor of English with a focus on global literature. This full-time position (3/4 teaching load) will begin in August 2025.
We are seeking an engaging, student-centered teacher who creates community and appeals to student interests, demonstrates a strong commitment to implementing the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion in all areas of academic practice, and shows eagerness to collaborate with other faculty in developing curriculum relevant to the needs of twenty-first century students.
Duties:
The teaching load will be a combination of composition and literature courses (3/4 teaching load).
Qualifications:
Successful applicants will hold a Ph.D. in English literature or a relevant field by the time of appointment and have experience teaching at the college level. We particularly encourage scholars and teachers of Latin American literature and Latinx literature to apply and are open to a range of interests outside of canonical North American or European literature.
