Meredith College invites qualified candidates for a full time tenure-track, faculty position as Assistant Professor in Food and Nutrition to begin August 2025.
Duties:
Teaching responsibilities include on-campus undergraduate and graduate courses in Food and Nutrition. Ability to teach a variety of food and nutrition courses at Undergraduate and Graduate levels with expertise in Public Health Nutrition (including Biostatistics, Food Policy, and/or Program Planning and Evaluation) or Culinary Medicine, Food Science, and Cultural Foods. Active involvement within the department, contribution to program assessment, student advising and mentoring, college-wide service, and professional involvement are expected.
Qualifications:
Earned Ph.D. degree in food, nutrition, dietetics, or closely related fields and RD credential required by position start date. Demonstrated or potential for excellence in undergraduate & graduate teaching; experience with on-line instruction desirable. Ability and willingness to provide an inclusive learning environment required. Background in teaching public health nutrition, culinary medicine, basic food science, and/or program planning and evaluation preferred.

The Department of Nutrition, Health and Human Performance (NHHP) is in the School of Education, Health and Human Sciences with majors & minors in Food and Nutrition; Health, Exercise & Sport Sciences; licensure in Physical Education; and an extensive physical education activity service program. NHHP offers M.S. degree in Nutrition with tracks in Dietetics (DPD and GP accredited program) and Community Nutrition, and an accredited Dietetic Internship program.
