The Associate Director of Admissions provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for Meredith College's campus visit program, student ambassadors, signature recruitment events, and Welcome Center operations. This senior-level position directly influences the college selection process for prospective students and families by ensuring exceptional visit experiences that showcase Meredith's distinctive value proposition. The role requires collaboration with college leadership and campus partners to create and maintain a comprehensive campus visit strategy aligned with institutional enrollment goals.

Duties:

Strategic Leadership and Program Management (25%)
- Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for campus visit programs and recruitment events
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators for visit programs and event success
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives based on visitor feedback and enrollment outcomes
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures for Welcome Center operations

Staff Management and Development (25%)
- Supervise and mentor student Admission Ambassadors (about 25 total students)
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and supervision of student ambassadors
- Create and maintain training materials and procedural documentation
- Develop continued professional development opportunities for student ambassadors
- Manage staff schedules and coverage for daily operations and special events
- Evaluate staff performance and provide ongoing feedback
- Manage payroll for ambassadors

Event Planning and Execution (20%)
- Work with marketing to effectively recruit prospective students to events and achieve registration and attendance goals.
- Direct the planning and implementation of signature recruitment events including:
     - Open House programs
     - Admitted Student programs
     - Special group visits
     - Virtual engagement opportunities
- Oversee event logistics, including:
     - Space reservations and setup
     - Catering coordination
     - Technology requirements
     - Staffing schedules
     - Materials preparation
- Assist with the planning and execution of events for transfer students, adult students, and international students.
- Develop contingency plans for emergencies
- Assess event effectiveness and implement improvements

Campus Visit Program Oversight (20%)
- Design and oversee daily campus visit operations serving prospective students and families
- Ensure seamless coordination of personalized visit experiences
- Manage visitor scheduling systems and communication workflows related to campus visits
- Oversee Welcome Center facilities, technology, and resources
- Monitor and maintain visit materials and resources inventory

Departmental Leadership (5%)
- Serve on the admission leadership team
- Participate in strategic enrollment planning
- Represent the office on college committees
- Support additional recruitment initiatives as needed

- Excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work with diverse populations
- Ability to manage multiple competing tasks
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively in both spoken and written English
- Ability to understand College procedures, curricular offerings, options, placement, and job facts, and be able to relate this information effectively to prospective students and families.
- Ability to plan and organize special events and activities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Experience with Slate is beneficial.
- Must exhibit a warm, welcoming attitude and have an excellent understanding of quality customer service

Key interfaces:
- Interacts with prospective students, parents, and members of the Meredith community.
- Will work daily with other members of the Admissions Office staff

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience, preferably within higher education/admissions
- A Master’s degree is strongly preferred

Working conditions & physical demands:
- General office setting with moderate noise level
- Some evening and/or weekend
- May occasionally lift objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
