Meredith College, an NCAA Division III all-women’s college located in Raleigh, North Carolina, invites applications for the position of Director of Athletic Communications & Game Day Operations. This role is responsible for leading all aspects of athletic communications and media relations, including game day operations, statistical record keeping, livestreaming, and content production for 11 varsity sports—with the addition of women's flag football in Spring 2027.

This position will serve as the primary liaison between the athletics department and external constituents, including media, the USA South Athletic Conference, the NCAA, and the campus marketing office. The successful candidate will promote Meredith’s student-athletes and coaches through a variety of digital and traditional platforms while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of statistical and historical records.

Duties:
- Manage all aspects of athletic media relations and sports information for Meredith’s varsity programs.
- Create content and manage digital promotion outlets including website, social media, and live stream production.
- Coordinate and execute game day coverage, including managing event staff, compiling live statistics, livestream production (Hudl/Production Truck), and post-event reporting.
- Produce engaging content that highlights student-athletes, coaches, and team accomplishments across website and social media platforms.
- Maintain, update, and manage the official athletic website and social channels.
- Prepare and submit timely statistical data and press releases to the USA South Conference, NCAA, and other relevant organizations.
- Design and edit athletics publications and marketing materials in collaboration with the campus Marketing Department.
- Serve as the official statistician and maintain historical data and records for all sports.
- Hire, train, supervise and schedule student workers, game day staff, and freelancers; ensure effective training and quality of event coverage.
- Manage the athletic communications budget and coordinate purchases and maintenance of communications equipment.
- Collaborate with the Athletic Director on strategic communication efforts related to alumni relations, fundraising, and recruiting.
- Assist with award nominations for student-athletes, coaches, and programs.
- Travel as necessary to provide coverage for away and neutral-site competitions.
- Support Hall of Fame nominations with historical and statistical documentation.
- Oversee and maintain media areas such as press box and scorer’s tables, including supervision of PA announcers, stat crew, scoreboard operators, and other key personnel.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, sport management, or related field.
- Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in collegiate athletic communications, sports information, or media relations.
- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in software and platforms such as Adobe Creative Suite, StatCrew, NCAA Genius, SIDEARM, Presto, Microsoft Office, and social media platforms.
- Experience in live video production and statistical reporting in such sports as volleyball, soccer, basketball, field hockey, lacrosse, and softball.
- NC Driver License and clean driving history is required.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Frequent use of computers, cameras, and office equipment.
- Ability to lift, carry and/or push/pull equipment (up to 40 lbs.).
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions during athletic events.
- Must be able to meet regular and predictable attendance standards.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop or bend.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written English skills including grammar.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must be competent in general math.

TECHNICAL SKILLS: Preferred experience with Word, Excel, Adobe Suite, Statcrew, NCAA Genius, SIDEARM, Presto and other NCAA uploading/database systems. Must possess knowledge of general office procedures; must possess strong interpersonal skills; must take pride in and be thorough in quality of work produced; must be able to use general office equipment including office PC, copier, telephone, etc.

REASONING ABILITY: Must possess excellent attention to details; must be a team player and interact collegially with co-workers and other constituencies. Must possess excellent customer service skills. Must possess strong organizational skills. Ability to exercise initiative. Preference given to individuals with the ability to think outside the box. Must be able to work independently and must maintain confidential information.
